Stay "Classy" Buckeye fans

Just a quick note from the world of college football. What is up with tOSU fans?

I remember last year during the Red River Shootout, hearing the horror stories from the Longhorn faithful who made the trip up to Columbus earlier in the season. I even saw first hand some of the 'evidence' of their stories, such as, 'keyed' Motor-coaches, partially burnt Texas Longhorn flags, where some Buckeye fans actually climbed up on top of a motor-coach, and set fire to the Texas Alum's spirit flag.

Is there just something in the water up near the Great Lakes that makes people feel the need to destroy stuff after a sports team's win or loss?

So after 17 arrests and a reported '35 to 40' fires, a Columbus Police spokes person was quoted in saying, ""This happens on big games, so we were prepared for it". Sorry, it maybe a 'regular' thing in Columbus, but no where else. Note to tOSU fans, at the very least, act like you have "been there" before. This didn't happen in Austin any last year, or even in Norman in 2000. But the again, those two schools don't honor actions like this either.

I'm up for a good, ole-fashioned riot after a 'week two' REGULAR season win. Who's with me?!?

Boy...first one of my favorite drivers, now my alma mater! Boy, you just really think that you need to make a comment on everything don't you!

A PROUD OSU Buckeye
Class of 1998

Buckeye fans think they have some sense of entitlement to do stupid things like this, and the crazy thing is that the Police dude is right, it has been going on for decades.

It is disgusting.

Being proud of your football team and school is one thing, being stupid and setting fires and such is just stupid.

So, 'Class of 1998', are you proud of these post game events? The blogger is just commenting on the obvious.

Let me guess, you drink two flavors of Kool-aid, the $uckeye and the $adler flavors!

Come on Buckeyes it's only a regular season game. Geeze.

Way to lower yourself into the WVU and Maryland status. Congrats.

In response to Jeff, I think the fires are stupid & immature. But, these problems also happen at pretty much every other school & after almost every other major championship. I'm wondering why he feels the need to comment on OSU specifically. And please don't even get me started on his endless, pointless rants about Elliott...

"But, these problems also happen at pretty much every other school & after almost every other major championship."

Lets take a look here,
Did it happen in Austin last year? nope
USC the year before? nope
LSU the year before that? nope
Columbus the year before that? YEP
Miami the year before that? nope
Norman the year before that? Nope

see a trend here?

Btw, it is interesting that you post your comments to the blogger "Anonymously". Put an email addy out there next time, the blogger has one. Isn't it ironic?

It happened in College Park when Maryland won at the final four in 2001 or 02 whatever year it was.

WVU burns couches every time they beat VT in football.

Just b/c the "blogger" puts out an e-mail doesn't make him legitimate. When he makes some sort of valuable contribution to the world, let me know. Until then, I'm done with the bitter man who has a very sad, and quite unhealthy, obsession with Elliott Sadler & with picking on college kids. Oh, and by the way, just for your info, he only posts what he wants you to see - when I stated that he was simply angry b/c Oklahoma hadn't had a good season recently, he refused to post that. But hey, he's a guy with a blog AND an e-mail....he MUST be right!

Thanks Jamie...it does happen a lot of places. People just like to pick on OSU for some reason.

if you would like to repost your comment, I would be happy to post it. I 'published' your comemnt (as I do all comments) however it did not take, and while I have tried a few to to republish it , the comment software only allowes one time to it.

but here is your comment in full
"In response to Rick, how naive must you be to just blindly follow some anonymous guy with a blog, And they wonder how stupid people start cults! Oh wait, you know his name is Phil so that must make it ALL TRUE!!!!"

No metion of Oklahoma, I'll leave that embellishment for your next comment.

I guess next time if I really wanted to pick on your personal 'favorites' I should pick on the STL Cards or something like that.

Wow,
So THREE schools are arson specialists! thats prety much 'EVERY OTHER SCHOOL' alright.

What a joke

Got to love the classic defense mechanism kicking in by the Buckeye fan. When you have nothing to bring to the table, just FIRE off a few ignorant opinions about the Blogger's personal life.

Come on baby light my fire!!!! On second thought, that was done about 50 times last Saturday night.

My point was being associated with notoriously bad behaved fan bases like WVU and Maryland is a bad thing. 3 schools does not make it happen "everywhere else".

Let see......change that around, and you get....

Why don't you email him and see if his email addy is legit? I have emailed him, and got a response. (want his IP address?) Heck, this guy even put his picture up. Someone must know if it is a "real person" or not. Frankly, YOU are the one hiding behind a mask. This isn't the NOL boards, this is real life, whether I agree with the blog or not. I would be foolish to just pass off what he is saying, as he backs his opinions what thought, research and fact. Now if you would like to dispute anything he has said about your school or driver, be my guest, cause I have tried, but can't come up with anything about the driver, thats for sure.

It sucks doesn't it?

Oklahoma hadn't had a good season recently

In this decade alone, Oklahoma has won more games in College Football then any other D1A team.

Not only are buckeye fans a bunch a arsonists, they are not very smart as well.

Amazing how a group of teenage idiots in a 10 square block area who do ignorant acts taint an entire program and fan base. Out of 110,000 fans in the stadium, all are labeled because of these acts.

Only half arrested were current or former students, with none having been at the game. Just drunk idiots that through their actions mar an entire university, its alumni and fans in the eyes of those outside looking in.

Note to tOSU fans, at the very least, act like you have "been there" before. 99.99% do this, but it seems not to matter.

It is amazing that a group of teenage idiots that live in a 10 square block area can taint an entire fan base and city to those outside looking in.

Even more disappointing is that of the 17 arrested, more than half are not nor ever have been OSU students. Since there were just looking for the reason to get drunk and act stupid, every fan and the school itself are tagged with the comment "Is there just something in the water up near the Great Lakes that makes people feel the need to destroy stuff after a sports team's win or loss?"

Sad, just sad.

Ohio State fans are the worst and the Horseshoe is the most over-rated college stadium in the nation.

How can a stadium be "over-rated"?
